The Ask:
Align the upcoming release of Spider-Man: Far From Home with the LA based, E3 video gmae expo.
Response:
In the film Peter Parker, aka Spider-Man (spoilers!), travels the globe on a school trip and visiting locations like London and Venice.
To align the summer film with the summer E3 expo, we went all out on a huge campaign across the live event, our video coverage, and OOH locations.
First, we thematically aligned the film with the expo by partnering with the STP Foundation, a for-non-profit that manages the Venice Art Walls at Venice Beach, California. Spider-Man would be going to more than more Venice on his summer trip!
The STP Foundation not only provided us access to the world renowned Venice Art Walls, where anyone could express themselves on the graffiti walls without fear of breaking any laws. They also connected us with local spray-paint artists.
Working with Sony Pictures, Bosslogic was brought on to design the art that would adorn the Venice Art Walls during the week of E3.
The focus would be on the various suits Spider-Man utilizes in the film.
Our artists brought Bosslogic's designs to life and we documented the process in a segment that would air throughout IGN's live coverage of E3.
Tom Holland even recorded a special intro our our broadcast.
The unique canvas of the walls lent the work to other ultra-widescreen OOH locations. And the work was used on bus ads, subways, and billboards.
Both Tom Holland and Bosslogic tweeted about the campaing on their social media channels.
